"Our four year old Standard Poodle ‘Charlie’ has always been nervous when taken to the vets or when being groomed. This was caused, we believe, by her being attacked by another dog when making her first visit to the vets as a puppy.

We have used three groomers to date, and you are the first that our dog has been happy to visit, and on her return, apart from looking absolutely marvelous, she is also calm and content. This is in stark contrast to previous groomers who have returned Charlie in a state of nervousness, and on one occasion so stressed that she needed medical treatment to calm her.

We strongly believe that your ‘whole’ approach has made the difference. You take the time to put Charlie at ease prior to having her fur cut and keep the atmosphere calm and friendly.

"I have taken my two American Cocker Spaniels to Rowena for about four years now. Before we started going to The Grooming Room, they were terrified of scissors, clippers and yes, even the sight of a comb would make them scream the place down! I explained all this to Rowena over the phone and she was more than understanding and put me at ease before I had even met her.

After the first time at The Grooming Room, I was convinced not only of Rowena's ability as a groomer, but of her compassion and her knowledge of how to handle the dogs she grooms. The second time we had to go, the dogs ran into The Grooming Room, quite happily with "Aunty Rowena" and didn't  even look back at me! Great! I drove away knowing they were happy to be there anyway.

I wasn't worried about leaving them, I knew they wouldn't be stressed as they had been at so many other places over the years. I also have a Newfoundland who has a medical condition that causes his legs to run with clear liquid constantly. He also loves his "Aunty Rowena" and walks into The Grooming Room with his tail wagging, and he also doesn't look back!

Rowena  is brilliant with him. She helps with the problem we have with  his legs and he is never stressed or sore when he comes home. Rowena is very good at what she does, she is genuinely a professional,  not only with her grooming but also her attitude and her "way" with all her four legged customers.
